Ted Hays Rachel, age 68, of Branson, Missouri and Sebring, Florida, died
Thursday, September 9, 2010, at Tampa General Hospital in Tampa, Florida.
He was born April 1, 1942, in Russellville to Chester A. and Opal Skidmore
Rachel. He was a retired electrical engineer, working for ConAgra Frozen
Foods Company for 32 years, and the Tyson Mexican Original group for another
six years. He was a 1960 graduate of Russellville High School and attended
Arkansas Tech University. He was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed traveling
in his motor home across the U.S. He was preceded in death by his parents;
and a brother Jerry Rachel.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Louise Wright Rachel, formerly of
Atkins; his children, Edward Rachel of Palm Harbor, Florida, Shena Rachel
Ranon of Winter Haven, Florida and Major Derek Rachel USAF of Macon,
Georgia; a sister Rita Rachel Brown of Searcy, Arkansas; and two grandsons,
Benjamin Rachel and Jacob Rachel.
The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, September 14, 2010, at the
Shinn Chapel officiated by the Rev. David Bishop and Mr. Dale Brown. Burial
will be in Ball Hill Cemetery at Russellville, under the direction of Shinn
Funeral Service.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, September 13, 2010 at the
funeral home.
