(May 25, 1940 - February 24, 2009)

 

U.S. Veteran George William Loveless, 68, of Russellville, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 24, 2009 at M.D. Anderson Hospital in Houston, Texas. The son of Clebert and Euna Louise Bowden Loveless, he was born May 25, 1940 at Gravel Hill. He was a 1959 graduate of Russellville High School. George and Martha Patton married on June 4, 1960 in Russellville. He served in the Arkansas Army National Guard from 1959-1965. He was a shipping and receiving manager with Firestone-Bridgestone in Russellville for over 30 years, retiring in 1995. He was a member of the United Rubber Workers Union #410 at Russellville. George enjoyed antiques and was a board member of the River Valley Association of Antique Cars since 2000. He also enjoyed gardening and working with cattle and his grandchildren affectionately called him "Papa Tractor". He attended the First Assembly of God church in Russellville for many years. He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife, Martha Patton Loveless, Russellville; two daughters, Janice Carol Roberts & husband Gale, Nixa, Missouri, Jeanine Kay Humphrey & husband Jeff, Russellville; a son, George K. Loveless, St. Charles, Missouri; seven grandchildren, Tiffany Johnson, Nixa, Missouri, Ashley Roberts, Nixa, Missouri, Logan & Lauren Humphrey, Russellville, Brandon, Ryan and Nicole Loveless, Springfield, Missouri; two great grandchildren, Jayden & Emma Johnson, Nixa, Missouri; two brothers, Dwight Loveless & wife Margaret, Russellville, Donald Wayne Loveless & wife Jan, Dover; two sisters, Maxine White & husband Marvin, London, Clara Meyer & husband Ed, Fort Smith.

Funeral will be at 10 am, Saturday, February 28, 2009 at First Assembly of God Church in Russellville. Rev. Jerry Patton and Rev. Earl Stapleton will officiate. Burial will be at St. Paul Cemetery at Gravel Hill by Humphrey Funeral Service. Visitation will be from 6-8 pm on Friday at the funeral home.
