, Glenna Carolyn Patterson
walked on from this life.
She was born in a little
house just north of
Dover
to Glen and Carolyn Powell
on
Sept. 30, 1938
. She graduated from
Russellville
High School
in 1956 and attended
Arkansas Tech. She was married to Chester Lee Patterson for 51 years. Glenna
worked as a secretary for
Russellville
High School
for more than 30 years,
serving several different principals, all of whom said they didn’t think the
school could run without her. Many of the students that passed through
Russellville High adored her, and to them she wasn’t Mrs. Patterson, she was
Meme. She was the loving mother of three daughters. When her girls were young,
she sewed many of their clothes, sometimes using patterns she would cut out of
the newspaper. She doted on and adored her seven grandchildren and one
great-grandchild. She loved reading, cooking, travel, decorating for holidays
and flowers. She always, without fail, put the people she loved first.
She is survived by her husband, Chester Lee Patterson; three daughters and a
son-in-law, Carol Patterson of Russellville, Cynthia Dow of New Blaine, and Mary
and Gary Wardlaw of Russellville; one sister and brother-in-law, Mary Jo and
Bobby Wade of Greenbrier; seven grandchildren, Elijah Steele, Lacie Knight,
Steven Powell, Raven Dow, Melinda Stokes and Isaac and Jake Wardlaw; one
great-grandchild, Ian Knight; her mother-in-law, Martha Goates; as well as
several nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws.
The funeral will be at
10 a.m.

, at the
Russellville
Christian
Center
, officiated by the Rev. Tom Underhill. Burial will be in
Shiloh-Williamson
Cemetery
by Shinn Funeral Service.
Active pallbearers will be Carol Patterson, Isaac Wardlaw, Steven Powell, Jake
Wardlaw, Keith Wade and Steve Wade.
Honorary pallbearers will be
Gary Wardlaw, Gary Goates, Charles Nichols, Bobby Wade, Charles Wade, Jeff
Nichols, Eric Nichols and Danny Goates.
